The ability to take risks by stepping outside your comfort zone is the primary way by which we grow. But we are often afraid to take that first step.
In truth, comfort zones are not really about comfort, they are about fear. Break the chains of fear to get outside. Once you do, you will learn to enjoy the process of taking risks and growing in the process.

很高興被領導台灣/LeadForTaiwan思辨論壇，邀請到鳳山高中演說。
我分享幾點給年輕的同學
1.積極接觸 ：在求學的階段，乃至進社會，不斷地接觸所有能夠接觸的團體，人、事、物。這一些累積，將會成為你未來重要的資源人脈。就算挫折，也將成為你未來成功的經驗。
2.反思： 在求學的階段，你可能會被不公平的對待，比方說我在高中在美國，就曾經遇過種族歧視。你必須反思，有一天你成為自己國家、或者自己熟悉領域的領導者時，你要怎麼領導。己所不欲，勿施於人。
3. 離開你的舒適區：離開自己熟悉的領域會很痛苦，但是這必須與我剛剛講的第一個原則符合，這樣才能夠拓展你可能的市場，你可能機會。
4. 檢查你的信箱：我常常會發覺到，我漏掉許多重要的信息，與各種不同的人合作，你必須要隨時確保你的訊息流通，不然你就會錯過許多重要的合作案。
5. 嘗試做新的事。不然你只是用另外一張年輕的臉孔講舊的事。
我發給到許多同學們，非常積極地詢問我一些問題，希望他們的這一股衝勁，可以在進入社會之後，還能保有。

What an awesome energy!
This morning, I had the pleasure of delivering a keynote speech on #Leadership and #Innovation to a fantastic group of young leaders at the @LeadForTaiwan 領導臺灣 critical thinking workshop in Kaohsiung.
Founded in 2018, Lead for Taiwan provides outstanding high school students with an opportunity to learn outside of the classroom and cultivate their leadership potential. I deeply appreciate their work, as they instill confidence in the next generation of changemakers who will not be afraid to speak up and challenge the status quo.
Regardless of your age, it is quite easy to fall into the pitfall of perpetually reinforcing old patterns, simply because it is convenient and provides a sense of security and stability. Yet, real progress comes from creative discomfort. This is an important lesson I learned during my time in both, the local government and as an NGO leader. I am very encouraged to see that young people in Taiwan have the drive to step out of their comfort zone and embrace the idea of innovation.

The Malaysian-born made her first appearance in entertainment when she won the First Runner-Up title in Miss Universe Malaysia in 2013. Natalia is incredibly active in the world of fashion and has not only ventured into TV Hosting notably as Fox Sports Asia's TV Host and a junior golf champion, but also acts, dances, writes, and plays the piano. In recent years, her keen interest in music inspired her to embark on her singing and song-writing career.
FLY was written and produced with the intention of sending a strong message to the youth today to experience life with vigour and tenacity. With Natalia's specific musical & lyrical direction, this song encourages the youth to take a step outside our comfort zone, to make the world our stage, and don’t just live digitally but live in the moment. As cliche as it may sound, it’s always good to have a reminder every once in a while to turn our dreams into plans, and our plans into reality… and let our reality take flight to change not only our world but the world of others as well.
